MHESI Fair Showcases Drone Light Show for the King’s 72nd Birthday.


The MHESI Fair has taken center stage with a spectacular drone light show, featuring 500 drones forming images in the sky above the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center’s central lake, celebrating His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday. High school students are actively participating in TCAS68 preparation sessions. Additionally, Minister Supamas Isarabhakdi kicked off a seminar titled “5 Years of MHESI: Reform and Future Directions,” bringing together young people and the private sector to share ideas and drive MHESI’s role in addressing national needs.

July 23, 2024, Bangkok – Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) announced that the MHESI Fair is now open to the public. The key highlight for July 23, 2024, kicks off in the morning with a daily seminar “Conquering TCAS68.” This event is designed to prepare high school students in grades 10-12 for the Thai University Central Admission System (TCAS68). This initiative aligns with the policy to reduce inequality and expand access to higher education. The seminar featured a lecture by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalie Charoenlarpnopparut, will give a lecture on how to prepare a compelling portfolio, followed by a session on how to effectively choose the top 10 admission choices for the third round, and techniques for strategic guessing. In the following days, there will be many other interesting topics including live tutoring by experts in various fields to help students prepare efficiently. Interested students can join at the TCAS Station Zone B: Science for Lifelong Learning. Activities will be held daily throughout the event from July 23 to 28, 2024.

In the afternoon, join us for two key seminars. The first topic, “The Role of MHESI in National Development,” features Khun Prim Jitcharoongphorn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Chairperson of the Innovation and Research Promotion Committee of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, will speak on “MHESI and Workforce Development in Industry. “The second seminar, “Five Years: MHESI’s STI Reform and Future Directions,” will feature Khun Ken Nakarin Wanakijpaibul, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of The Standard, discussing
“Five Years of MHESI: Challenges, Opportunities, and a Better Future.” These sessions will review the progress and impact of MHESI’s reforms in higher education, science, research, and innovation over the past five years, incorporating diverse perspectives to address challenges in driving Thailand towards becoming a knowledge and innovation-based society.

In addition to the highlighted activity, don’t miss the spectacular “Drone Light Show in Honor of the King’s 72nd Birthday”! This dazzling display features 500 drones lighting up the night sky over the lake at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, near Benjakitti Park. It’s a perfect blend of technology and art, celebrating the King’s milestone birthday in a breathtakingly beautiful way.

The Minister of MHESI stated that, in addition to the highlighted activities, the “MHESI Fair” is packed with interesting events throughout the day on two main stages: the Main Stage with 500 seats and the Mini Stage with 150 seats. These include the “Science for Exponential Growth: Tech to
Biz Thailand Tech Show 2024” organized by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), which will feature awards for outstanding achievements in technology and innovation. This will be followed by the presentation of the “10 Technologies to Watch” and investment pitching from promising startups, with attendees voting for the best investment-worthy and best-presented projects. The “Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2024” opening ceremony will be conducted by the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), and awards will be presented for the Prime Minister Award: National Startup 2024 and Prime Minister Award: Innovation for Sustainability by Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. The PMUC Country First Award ceremony will also take place, organized by the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), recognizing researchers and their first-time achievements in Thailand. Additionally, there will be the signing of the MOU for the Agrit platform, aimed at elevating and accelerating the development of agricultural and food technology startups to international growth. The award ceremony for the Central Region round of the 2024 Invention and Innovation Contest for vocational and higher education students will also be held, organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI).

Additionally, the exciting activities from Suan Dusit University, featuring a culinary demo based on their research with delicious dishes like stir-fried basil with minced pork and a fried egg, and colorful Thai sweets (look choop) presented by the Dean of the Culinary School. The day will end on a high note with a creative Thai fusion music performance from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University.
